If you Google ‘why surfers make the best boyfriend/girlfriends” you get plenty of results. You’ll also get plenty of results if you Google ‘why you should never date a surfer’ but you don’t need that kind of negativity in your life, right?
At Westcountry Surf School we reckon surfers not only make great partners, but that surfing itself is the best first date idea ever. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner we reckon a surf lesson for you and your date is a great way to make a lasting impression!
Did we mention we love coming to work at Watergate Bay, like, truly love it? It’s just 10 minutes away from the bustle of Newquay and with its tumbling cliffs, cosy caves and miles of soft sand you’ll be swooning before you even see the waves. There are stunning views from the surf school itself, think windswept tall grass and fresh sea air…you’ll be unleashing your inner Poldark in no time!
Sexy in Neoprene
Everyone looks sexy head to toe in neoprene. Fact. Ok, not fact but it’s always a good idea to get down to skin tight rubber suits on your first date right? 😉
On a more serious note our wetsuits are top quality and included in your lesson price (board hire is included too, winning!) and we have both winter and summer suits depending on when you make it down, so you’ll be snug whatever the temperature… although if you think a cuddle might warm your date up we get ya…
Learning to surf is so fun! You’ll be giggling from all the endorphins released by the physical exercise and riding high when you catch your first wave. You might even catch a ‘party wave’ and ride it together! Plus, sometimes you just can’t help but smile at being in the sea with Newquay’s stunning coast all around you. It’s love at first site, trust us.
The After party
Westcountry Surf School is brilliantly located next to some of Cornwall’s top restaurants, plus we have all the facilities you need to get changed and chill out comfortably after your surf (beanbags and chill, you know it makes sense…). Or you can head to nearby Newquay town and keep the party going. Either way, with a first date this good, who could resist date #2?
