If you’ve been anywhere near the news, or a window, lately you’ll probably know that this week saw the UK turn white as the beast from the east and storm Emma paired up to deliver a double dose of gnarly winds and Siberian snow.
Usually a little hotspot of mild weather, even Newquay and Westcountry Surf School got hit! Suddenly we were looking at a white-out rather than a wipe-out but, with views like this… we didn’t really mind!
Newquay saw lots of folks swap out their surfboards for snowboards and a few hardy souls took to the water even if the conditions weren’t exactly balmy. We didn’t have any surfing lessons booked so frosty fingers and hot chocolates were more on the agenda for us!
Back to normal
And as suddenly as it came, it left again! We’re now back to normal here at Watergate and everyone is looking forward to a scorching summer after that last bite of winter. We were a bit shocked to realise we’re now in March and Easter is less than a month away – guys get your lessons in now because from here on out things only heat up!
Looking forward to seeing you on the beach, whatever the weather!
PS Big love to EdgeoftheMap_UK for letting us use two of his lovely snowy images!
